Question
Ok my question is I bought a Brazillian rainbow boa like a month and a half
ago. I feed him a rat and he just killed it and left it there so gave to him again
and he ate it. So 4 days later I gave him another and the same thing
happens. So after that he goes into shedding for like 2 weeks. After shedding
I feed him another rat and the same thing happens and this time he won't eat
it at all. So a day later I try again and samething happens he kills it but won't
eat it. So I don't know if he's a picky eater or what. ( temp is 82 and humidity
81) (4 1/2 feet long ) so if you can please help out. And it's been about 3
weeks since he ate and 2 of those weeks were the shedding period. So just
make sure you what up he kills the rat and doesn't eat it, I try giving it to him
again but nothin. Thanks for you time hope you can help me out.

Answer
John,
A 4.5' snake can go a long time without eating. Don't worry unless he goes without for 2 months or more. I would feed him once every 1 to 1.5 weeks. You might want to consider feeding pre-killed. It is far less stressful on the snake. Make sure he has water and he should be fine.
