Sterilizing wood

Question
I found several good pieces of wood outside for my corn snake and I was just wondering how I would sterilize them, since they're a little too big for the stove, but not too big for the cage. Two pieces are thin but long, and one piece is very thick. I tried to google it, but all I got was forums who gave advise that didn't make sense.

Answer
Hey Chance

Bleaching the wood is the only way if you can't bake it to get rid of all the creepy crawlies. Found this on another forum, probably the best explanation I've seen.

BLEACH is GOOD mix four ounces of bleach per gallon of water soak item for 1 hour this allows the bleach to kill microbes in the wood. in an oven you have to reach a temp of 485 degrees to destroy the microscopic pest in wood. What happens to wood at 485 well it scorches and becomes unusable. after bleaching allow to dry in the sun for 5 days this will ensure all bleach has disipated.
