Question
I purchased a male western hognose snake on Aug 25 at a Reptile Expo and was advised by the seller he was about a month old. Since that time, he(Noser) has eaten 3 pinkies without issue but as of yet has not shed & does not appear to be growing , he resides in a 10 gallon tank, is the tank to big? Am I overfeeding? Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

PS The hognose are such a Cute species!!

kind regards,

Bea

Answer
Bea,
I have 2 hognose snakes and they are docile and cute as can be. Do not worry about the shed. I have found the western breed shed less than other snakes I keep. I do not think that you are overfeeding Noser and a 10 gallon tank should be good for now. Just make sure your husbandry is correct and I am sure he will shed within the next month or so.

Bea,
  Anytime. Glad I can help.
