sick red tail boa

ok so i actually have a few questions conserning my red tail boa. so first of all we just got him this morning for my brothers 15th birthday he is about 4 ft long and we dont know really anything about this peticular snake because he is new ya know he has done all his reserch about this snake befor he got it he did have another ball python that he gave to me so he knows about snakes and i think the guy we got him from neglected him but anyway i got bit on my arm like 10 minutes after my brother got bit right above the nipple wat should i do about that? second he bit me right after after he started shakeing his head really hard back and forth spitting up like this foamy water so i need help with that i dont know wat it is he is spitting it up. and last of all he has been wheezing all day since we had him i dont know if he has a resportory problem and if he dose wat should i do about that? i really appricate if u can help me man its a beautiful snake and i dont wanna get rid of it.

Hey Mike,

You have a snake with a respiratory infection. This is very treatable and it sounds to me like it is in the advanced stages. Bring him the the vet and have them start him on antibiotics. As for the biting you have nothing to worry about. I would suggest however that you clean the spots with peroxide and keep it cleaned.
