mites on snake

I found a mite on our snake. Do mites travel? Will the mites effect my family or my dog?

Hi Rachael,

They can this is why you should immediately remove your snake from it tank clean the tank thoroughly with bleach and water 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. Then buy some mite ridding oil. Put your snake back in the tank with just a water bowl and hid box made of plastic and laid out with paper towels. Use some Oust around the house and spray around the furniture around the tank.
