Ball Python mucous

Question
Our Ball Python seems to have a respratory infection. I've brought him back from mouth rot but I'm not sure what to do here. A vet is out of the budget right now. I heard that Pedialyte is god and even a contac cold pill. Any suggestions?

Answer
He needs antibiotics.  Once a snake is actually showing signs of an RI he is pretty sick. You could try simply increasing the temp of his cage and giving the Pedialyte (I would not try any over the counter meds).  That has to be your call.  Temp you are looking for is a constant high 80's.
