Question
QUESTION: I recently Rescued a Surinam BCC Boa, and she had a burn on her belly, very minor I treated that with poly sporin and she shed, problem is her tail has a little tiny peice that wont come off.. i treid soaking, rubbing, even gently scratching... I do not know why it wont come off.. but when she is out of the water/dry it shrinks down really small compared to the reast of the tail ? I know if left like this the snake can lose a small peice of its tail. Do I wait for the tip to fall off, or can I fix this. I have tried everything in my power, i dont want her to lose her tail please tell me you can help!
(peice of tail that is affected is a bout maybe 3mm, and the skin on the tail is about 1.5mm)
Thank you

ANSWER: Can you send me a picture of the affected area?  I'm imagining a band that goes around the entire tail, is that correct?  Is it possible what you are seeing is actually scar tissue?

QUESTION: hey i dont have a camera at the moment, but this is pretty much the exact thing going on. and like i said if i put her in a damp towel the tail turns back to normal, i'm just worried if kept too damp with the burn she might get more problems... hope this helps you help me, thanks again.

Answer
If it's just the tip like in the pic I wouldn't worry a lot.  AT some point it probably got closed in a cage or bit by a rat and the tissue was damaged enough such that the body just wrote it off.  Best bet is to have a vet look at it if you're still worried.
