red tail boa injury

Question
I recently picked up a red tail boa and she shed today.  All looked well but upon shedding she revealed a open sore on the tip of her nose.  She hasn't eaten in 4 weeks plus.  Since I got her.  I believe it might be a bite from a live feed (Arrrrgggg.)  Is there any way to help the healing process?

Answer
Hello Mark,

It is very rare for a snake to get bit on the nose. They are more apt to get bit on the side of their head or right behind the head. This could be more in the line of her rubbing her nose on the tank screen or something within the tank.

The best way to help with the healing is to apply iodine to it once a day with a cuetip.

Hope this helps,
Eric
