Snake hiding

Question
Hi, I am a new owner of two Corn Snakes that I was given by a friend. They are in a 40gl tank and while the tank is the same I changed the surroundings completely. I added two hides one on the warm side & one on the cool. My question is while they ate well both times I've fed them, since I put the new hides in they haven't come out in over a week, is this a problem? Do I need to remove them from the hide if it is time for the weekly feeding or do I just wait to feed them until they come out?
Thanks.

Answer
Snakes in general spend much of their time hiding unless they are hungry or looking to mate. So don't worry about that. As far as feeding, you can either leave them in their hides and put the food right outside of the hide or in with them, or take them out and get them moving when you feed. Either way is fine, basically whatever will work.
