our male 2 month old red tailed boa has eaten 7 mice in the last 2 and a half weeks but has still not had a poo is this normal. He is realy happy and in realy good condition.

Hi Matt,

Your snake may be 'compacted' or constipated. you can try bathing your snake in some warm water to see if this eases her bowels and helps her defecate, otherwise you may need to take it to a vet to get the feces removed.

on another note, if your snake is eating 7 mice in 2 and a half weeks you're feeding it too much. the rule of thumb for feeding a snake is: feed it one food item per week and if this leaves no lump in the belly once consumed move on to two in one feeding each week. if there is still no lump, move up to the next sized mouse and so on...if you feed your snake on several separate occasions during the week it may either become obese or grow out of proportions.
