Question
QUESTION: hi there,my royal python is roughly about 24 inch, how old would you say she is?and also she shed on the 6 march when would it be likely to say she will shed again?and also as i am new to snake keeping she has a vary small white/clear bit on the top of her head and is causing me to worry slightly, any idea what this could be.sorry to be a pain many thanks
ANSWER: I would say she is about 2 years old. At that age they usually shed about every two months. The bit on the top of her head could be a mite.  Or it could be a sliver of substrate material from her cage.  If it is possible, see if you can remove it with tweezers.  But if it's embedded deeply just leave it alone.  Good luck and your not a pain :-)

QUESTION: i thought mites were of a dark colour, she has no more of these bits anywhere else or if she has i cannot see them.the substraight im useing is newspaper. thanks again

Answer
Yes..mites are a dark color but it could be an egg too.  I am pretty sure it is just a piece of foreign material.  Try using tweezers and see if it comes off.  And if you can even send me a picture (close-up) that would help alot too.  I really need to see it to have an idea of what it is.
