baby royal death

Question
Heya i recently (2 weeks ago) brought a royal python from a pet shop. She was about 8 months old and 2 foot long. The owner said she'd need feeding in a couple of days and had only missed 1 or 2 feeds. She was the last one they had but she seemed interedted in her surroundings and warm to the touch. I made sure the tempreture in her cage was always around 27C. She did not eat in teh two weeks i had her. My boyfriend's father has kept snakes for years and told me not to worry adn that'd he'd invest in live food. We even tried braining a pinkie and no interest at all. I came home yesterday and she was dead. No indication of why and my bf's dad doesn't know. She was not hard at all infact teh complete opposite she was liquified til her tail and then that was firmer. nothing else seemed wrong with her at all. Wondering if this sounds familiar to you? or if you could think of anything i done wrong.

Answer
Hi Jessica,

First off I am sorry to hear about your new pet.

Did you contact the pet store to ask if they have had any problems with any of their other ball pythons sold. They may not tell you even if they have. Ask that they either return your money or provide you with another snake. Two weeks is not long enough for you to have caused a death in the snake. It would have had to been sick before you got it.

There are to many variables to be able to tell you why your snake died.

When you get a new one make sure the temp is around 90 degrees during the day and 85 at night, with a hot spot kept at around 92 degrees at all times. The humidity should be kept at around 65-70% everyday.

Sorry I could not help
