sick milk snake

I have a female Mexican milk snake.  For a couple of days now, she's had a very swollen anal area.  She appears to be having trouble defecating correctly.  She's going, but in little bits all around the tank.  She has always been a super eater, but last night, she didn't eat.  This is a first for her.  Do you have any idea what could be wrong with her?  And if so, what can I do?

She has an infection. The swollen area is puss that is building up under her skin. You need to take her to a vet as soon as possible. The vet will need to open the area and clean it out, then apply antibiotics. This is something that you can't ignore and hope that it will fix itself. Medical intervention is necessary. Good luck.
