Red Tail Boa and Seizures

Question
We've had our Male Red Tail Boa for about 8 months. We got him as a baby. He's grown extremely well, almost 2 feet. He lives with a another boa, she's a Atgentian. But today, after being on vacation for a few days, we noticed his mouth was a little crooked, they haven't been fed in a week, he fixed it but we wanted to make sure he wasn't having seizures. He's a very lazy snake not moving much in the tank, while she moves all about. Another fact that worries us. Is there any way of telling weather or not he is in fact having seizures?

Answer
Hi Rachel,
I would not be concerned with the mouth issues unless other symptoms of a problem develop. It could be a number of issues, but most likely, he misaligned his jaws during a gape, especially since he fixed it after. Keep and eye on it and make sure this is not a common occurrence. I am sure it happens, but i am not a vet and have never had a snake that had a seizure, so I really cannot advise you regarding that.
