Corn got mouse caught when eating

Question
Hi.  Just fed our 1yr old corn a defrosted mouse.  She has had the same size mouse twice before, so I know it's not too large for her.  She got it most of the way down and then I assume she must have got the mouses claw or something caught as her bottom lip started turning inside her mouth!  She eventually regurged it most of the way and then carried on eating and finished it fine.  I just wondered if this is common, if it's something to worry about and is she is likely to have done any damage?  I don't want to disturb her too much, but she seems ok.  Your help is much appreciated.

Answer
It sounds like you were watching her eat the mouse. My guess is that it was your watching her that caused her to regurge the mouse. Snakes feel defenseless when they are eating because they are involved in a process in which they cannot escape a predator. If upset, they will regurge their meal (even a day or two later). I would wait until a week has passed and then offer her food again, preferably at night, and just let her eat on her own. I doubt that there was any real damage that the mouse could have caused her.
Good luck!
