Dear Kevin; My snake is in shed and is having a hard time (he's done this before but not like this) his underside has several cut like places on it and are raw! What should I do ????? I've had him almost 8yrs. I'd be lost without him!                             Be Blessed Karen  Thank you please answer.

Raise the humidity. Mist him 3 X per day and soak him in luke warm water until he sheds. If the eye caps are retained, then put mineral oil on the 3 X per day until they shed. If you do these things monthly, his sheds will be much easier to deal with.

I am not sure about the plastic bag.If you mist him and use a substrate (cypress is a good one) that retains some moisture, he should be okay. If he develops any open sores or infected areas, use 3 in one antibiotic ointment. This is mineral oil based and will do no harm, so you cannot over do it.
