Question
i got my boa as a baby and she is about 5 6 months old and most of the baby's have had a problem with being abit bity and hissy so i called mine missi cause she hissis alot haha but i try 2 handle her as much as possible, once or twice a day for periods of about half hour and up but she always goes to bite me and does bite me sometimes when i get her out, will this stop or is she always gona be like this as when she gets bigger it will start hurting and i have a little boy which she has been known 2 go 4 when im handling her, is there anything i can do to calm her down, i do feed her in her cage should i start feeding her outside her cage, shes about 2 foot long and eats 2 small mice once a week and she looks amazing after 2 sheds and she was the 1st to feed out of the babys and has always loved her food so i dont think its her health if you could help it would be amazing oh and i have just brought a solar glow mercury vapor lamp 4 her 125W im hoping some sun goodness will also help lol. Answer
hi Jo,

sorry about the late reply.

i would reduce the amount of handling youre giving your snake. try handling it once every other day. too much handling will stress the snake out and could make it harder to tame her.

as she gets older she will calm down a bit. both my male and female boas are agressive, it just takes time and patience...

she doesnt need the solar glow lamp. snakes dont get any benefits from sunlight unlike some lizards and other reptiles but it wont harm her in any way.

i hope this helps,

Andy
