I think my ball python is really sick!

Question
I have a ball python for about 2 years and she never had problems, but 3 weeks ago she vomited his last meal and now I tried to feed her again but she didn't ate (and I noticed that the temperature in her tank was at 64 and as I know it needs to be at 75 minimum and then she started to vomit or throwing something like water, so I started to search on Internet and I thought that it might be pneumonia so I went to the vet and he told me he was thinking it was a respiratory infection, and he gave it an antibiotic and told me to elevate the temperature on the tank, and that she would need another injection in 3 days, and that she will be drinking a lot of water because she seem a little dehydrated, and as he said she did drink a lot of water the last days, so today I went for the second injection and she seem to be ok, but when I got there she vomited again but now it was more vomit an it had like blood on it, so the vet decided that my ball python have to stay there, and I could come for her tomorrow because he was thinking that it wasn't a respiratory infection #like pneumonia), and it was something more related to a bowel disease or something like that but he was not sure, so he was going to be checking her and make her an x-ray, so now I'm really scared because the vet said that maybe he will have to make her a surgery, so I want to know if you could help me, if you know another case like this, or you know what does she have, please I need some help on this!

Answer
Hi Mariana,
To start with, you did the right thing by taking her to the vet. A lot of snake owners figure that they can replace the snake cheaper than they can take it to the vet. 64 is extremely cold for a ball python. If I was guessing, i think it is related to that low temperature. I think the vet is right in his first guess, it is probably an advanced respiratory infection or pneumonia. I have seem many cases such at this and to be honest with you, the vomiting concerns me greatly. When a snakes body stops accepting food, it is a bad sign. In many cases, death results shortly thereafter. Hopefully, I am wrong and the vet will get your snake back in shape.
