Question
Hi Ken - i have a red tailed boa and today i notcied a tiny tiny bug crawling on her tree in her cage - it was so small that i could not tell if it was brown or clearish - i could only see that one and there was ntohing on the snake - could this be one of the bugs that snakes can get or possibly just a insect that got into the cage?

Answer
Probably just a normal bug if you couldn't see any others. I would take a damp white cloth or paper towel and wipe the snake with it and if you see brown specs or bugs on the cloth after you wipe the snake then it has reptile mites if not then most likely it was just a different type of mite or harmless insect.
