My snake wont eat

Question
Hi I wonder if you could help me please? I habe had my snake for 6 years, he has eaten every week since I had him when he was a baby and for the past 2weeks he will not eat his mice. I feed him frozen mice defrosted in warm water as it is illegal to feed live prey. He is active around his cage and does not look sick, he is also not due for a shedding for a couple of months. Is there a reason for his not eating?
Thank you Rachel Conway

Answer
Rachel,
Not eating is one of the first signs of illness. On the other hand, it has only been 2 weeks. He can probably go for months without eating. Try feeding him at night if you usually feed him during the day. Try rats instead or mice or visa versa. I would let him go another 2-4 weeks as long as he is drinking water. If he has not eaten and kept food down by then, it is best to see an exotic animal vet.
