corn snakes colouration

Question
hi there. i would like to ask, if a snake's diet actually affects the colour of my corn. i have an okeetee juvenile corn snake about 3 months old. think he's lil darker than regular okeetee corns. his base colour is maroon-ish instead of the darker orange i used to see on other snakes. his colour now is darker than when i got him a month or two ago. its quite hard for me to find pinky at where im living, so he feeds on thawed and warmed chicken meat. will this cause any problems or quicker fading in his colouration with this diet overtime?

and, is there any other food to suggest feeding other than mice and pinky?

Answer
The problem will be malnutrition not color.  They need whole prey items to have a balanced diet.  Chicken is not going to do it.  Not enough fat, calcium, etc.  Can you get adult mice and breed them perhaps?  If you can get a corn snake into Singapore I would expect you to be able to find mice as well.  Try Rodentpro.com  I'm not sure they'll ship that far but they might.  You need whole prey!
