feeding issues

Question
I found a snake my cats were playing with. Externally, the wounds seem to be healed. I put a lizard in his aquarium and ten crickets. He won't eat the lizard and I feel that the lizard may have eaten the three crickets that are missing. Is it possible the incident he went through may have affected his eating habits? Is there anything else I should feed him? It's a scarlet kingsnake. Thank You.

Answer
it is possible that the incident may have put him off his food.

the food you feed him should be no larger than the thickest part of his body. any larger and he will probably refuse it anyway.

try feeding him a mouse. probably a fuzzy or small size mouse.  you can get these prekilled and frozen from reptile pet shops. make sure you thaw it out before feeding him.

I hope this helps,

Andy
