Question
ok.. so... im not sure if my ball pyhton is a boy or girl.... we r pretty sure it is a girl though.... can they lay eggs even though they havn't been bred??? what time of year do they have there eggs???? how old or big do they have to be?

Answer
Hello Kasadee,

Ball Pythons will not lay eggs when they are not bred to. Although they do have infertile eggs in them. It is not until a male triggers the breeding period for the female that the eggs will actually start to grow.

If a male is not introduced then the follicles will be reabsorbed.

Females need to be around 2000 grams that would be around three years old with males they can be around 700 grams to be a breeder that would be around one and a half to two years old.
