Scale rot

Question
My 5ft Boa Constrictor is approximately 3 years old and has developed a condition on her underside that I think may be scale rot.  I let her out on the grassed area of my garden a few days ago where she made her way across a small paved area.  Noticing a graze on her underbelly, I kept an eye on it and it has since become alot worse. The affected area seems to have become larger and a large amount of scales are falling off the snake at the slightest touch.  I have removed the regular substrate from the tank and replaced it with standard news paper.  I have also dressed the open wound with a bandage dressing until I can locate a specialist veterinary surgery.  Is there anything else I can do in the meantime to make her condition any better?
Thanks for your help in this matter

Answer
Hello Ben,

While you look to find someone, you may consider cleaning her body off everyday with water, and even applying an small amount of iodine, this will help with the wound.

I hope you find a vet here soon. I am assuming you have called all your local vets to see if they have any knowledge of herps.

Good luck Ben and I hope she gets better.
