Snake noises sometimes

Question
Hello. I've tried to find some info on this but just gotten confused. I purchased a hogg island boa about 4 weeks ago. She appears in great shape with clear eyes, no skin issues and an active tongue. and is oh about 20 inches long. She's in a 20L with a undertank heater and spot light on the left and a reptisun 10.0 for light along with hide etc. Temp on hot side at 86-88, under spot at 92 and cool side of tank is at 82 or so. I have had snakes before and this is currently the only one I have. Here is the issue. When I take her out, she begins to make a popping noise. Not really a his but a pop and occasionally you will here a breath of air. I've read about respiatory issues, but am not sure if this is something to be concerned about since she looks and acts fine. There is no mucus, bubbles or anything coming from her mouth although when I have her out she does sometimes open here mouth about a 1/4 of the way and then closes it. Not enough to be relocating her jaw. She just does it only when out. Any ideas?? Could this be just her? I don't have a reptile vet close so am trying to eliminate something that might just be her before I end up having to travel somewhere.

Thanks and I hope I provided enough information.

Answer
I've never worked with Hogg Island Boas, but from what you are saying my guess would be that she's making this noise as a defense posture. If she had a respiratory problem there would probably be other signs like you mentioned. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it for now.
