Question
Hi.  I wrote in last week on advise for a lost corn snake that I found 3-4 months later.  Anyway, he is doing great!!  He finally ate a pinkie, and looks like he did when he escaped!! We are sooooo HAPPY!!  We purchased a ball python "JR" a few months ago to replace the corn snake "SYD", and today, I noticed little black bugs crawling on him.  I suppose they are mites.  I took him out of his cage, and noticed black dots on my hand.  My questions are, can we get rid of them?, is there any harm to humans from these mites or can they live on us as well, and will our corn snake get them(who of course is a separate tank).  I called a local pet store and they said they have something to kill the mites.  Do you know How reliable these products are? I really appreciate your time and advice!!
Thanking You again in advance!!
Bree

Answer
Hi Bree...so glad your corn snake is doing great..whew!!! :-)  As for your mites...yes...that is what they are and I am going to give you a great site to read to help you get rid of them.  Just copy and paste the address in your browser window.  Also...the products for mites at the pet stores work fairly well.  Good luck and here is the address:
