Did my snake eat the other snake?

Question
QUESTION: I have two snakes a ball python and a rosy boa. I recently got the bright idea to house them together and they have been in the same habitat for a about a week and they seemed to be doing great together. They curled up in the same hide box and were just plain adorable together. I got home today and I could only find my ball python in the habitat. I never had a problem with my ball python escaping on me, but the rosy boa was a little bit bigger.
So the question is did my ball python eat my rosy boa?
ANSWER: Hi Rei
First of all...did you happen to notice any "escape routes" from the cage when your rosy disappeared?  If not, there is always a possibility one might have eaten the other but that is not a normal occurance.  Pythons and rosy's can live in harmony but there is the risk of one snake dominating the other such that they are unable to carry out required functions (like moving to a warm basking area or drinking water). This can obviously cause some serious problems (including major stress), and you may not notice it until it's too late because this behavior can be very subtle.  You didn't mention how old or big they were except that the Rosy was bigger.  Don't give up hope just yet.  He may have escaped as my snakes have done the same thing MANY a time!!! Let me know if you find him and good luck!

QUESTION: Ware are some places I should check? Whenever my ball python exapted she would just find some place fairly close to curl up. My rosy boa was a great deal more active and alot thinner. My rosy boa was longer then my ball python, but Belladonna my ball python is thicker. Ms. Cleo is prolly 2 feet and Belladonna just under 2 feet.

Answer
If anything start looking under everything at floor level.  Use a flashlite for those hard to see places.  I've even had my snakes escape on the second floor only to be found on the first floor under a couch!!  Also...remember that they will be active at night and that is the best time to look for them. It took over a MONTH before I found one of my boa's before so don't give up hope. Good luck.
