Lump in corn snake

Question
There are two snakes of similar size in a 10-gallon aquarium. They have a water bowl in one end and a log to crawl under at the other. The end with the log has a bottom heater under the glass. We keep about an inch of Aspen Bed shavings on the bottom. The second snake (both males) is eating well and appears to have no problems. I think I waited 4 or 5 days after the snake regurgitated the fuzzies before feeding it again. I could take a picture of the lump and send it but don't know how to attach it in this answer format. Thanks for your quick response.

-----Question-----
I noticed a lump in our corn snake today (It's about 6 mos old and 18 inches long). It looks like it has just eaten, but it's been at least 7 days since it's had a pinkie. The lump is noticeable to the touch but doesn't feel 'hard'. Eating has been a small issue for him. He's big enough to eat fuzzies but threw up a couple of them a month or so ago so we've down-sized to pinkies and there hasn't been a problem since then. Should we just keep an eye on him for a while or is there something else we should check on?

This doesn't sound good. There should not be a lump 7 days after eating. Can you reply telling me about your set up, what kind of housing you use, whats in the tank, what kind of heating you have and your temps in both ends and how you are measuring it. Also when your snake regurgitated how long after did you wait until feeding again? Have you any pics of this lump? I would look into finding a good reptile vet and getting him checked over asap just to make sure its nothing serious. A snake that size should really be able to eat a fuzzy but we can go through your set up to make sure theres nothing wrong with it, if theres not then that too could possibly be a medical problem. Take care and hope to hear from you soon

Answer
Hi there, if it was me I would seperate the snakes right away. Corns are solitary and don't really like to live together, it can be done but sometimes causes problems, it could be the reason for the regurgitation in this snakes case. After regurgitating snakes shouldnt be fed for 10-14 days as it takes this long for the acid and chemicals in the stomach to balance out and be able to digest again. I would take this snake to a vet and ask for a probiotic, dont feed again until then. Two male corn snakes will fight when they reach adulthood and shouldnt be kept together. How do you feed them? Is there any chance that the snake with the lump ingested some of the aspen, do you feed in the tank? I think this is a case for the vet but like I said I would seperate them right away as it sounds like stress could be causing the regurgitation. How can you tell who is regurgitating when they are in together? Are you just guessing? Are they bothing pooing normally?
