5 ft male royal python feeding issues

okay i have read through your questions and none of them seem to work for my snake. kaine does not have a problem eating but he will not it dead rats. he will only it live ones.  He wont even it a tiny rat it has to be bigger around than him. Ive bought some frozen rats online, and i tried to warm them up by setting them in a plastic container in a bowl of boiling water. ive tried to dangle it in front of him with my hand. ive tried dragging it across the bottom of the tank.  I live out in the country and i have to drive almost an hour to get him a rat. is there anything i can do?

Hi Brandon,

Some snakes that are brought up eating live food will never accept thawed mice or rats. 2 things i would advise are to leave it in the tank overnight and see if he eats then. if not.. dont try and feed him for a month. after a month is up try a thawed rat again. if no success try again in 2 weeks with a thawed rat. if he refuses to eat again feed him a live rat and you can try repeating the process.

unfortunately he may never take thawed mice.
