I have 2 ball pythons, both 2 yrs old, both 3 & 1/2 foot long By 2 to 2&1/2 inches around. They have always been in the same cage,Nothing has changed in there routine,heat, lighting, etc. Both just stopped eating in November 08. they use to eat live rats- medium to large, I've tried live,frozen, fresh killed. Nothings working. can you please help me.Afraid they'll get sick.  thank you very worried.

Hey Joel,

Do you know what sex they are? If they are male and female this would be the cause. They are around the age of breeding. You may not have changed anything as far as temps and humidity levels, but they can feel the slightest change. Meaning that if the outside temps changed around you then they felt it and this triggered their hormones.

They will be fine. Continue to offer food every week and when they are ready they will eat.

You should also watch for locking. Meaning their tails will look like they are connected together. If you see this they are breeding, if they are male and female. You will sometimes observe this behavior in males only. If you have a male and female you could see some eggs.
