Answer
Hello Jennifer,

I apologize for not responding right away..  I've been working like crazy:)

First off congrats on your new pet:)

Yes, that is true snakes don't eat when they are in their shedding stage.  The reason why is because they go through a molting stage.  For about 2-3 weeks.  As you notice they're skin becomes dull and their eyes start changing colors to either blue purple, or white.

This is when they become "temporary blind."

While they are going through their shedding stage it's best to leave them alone.  If not they become a bit alert and feisty for which they can't see.

It's also best to not feed them at this time.  After they start shedding their skin and can see again a luke warm bath helps them shed their skin easier.

Also you can start feeding your python after they shed.

Here is a website that has more information on care:)

Also, I almost forgot it's best to start feeding your python one white fuzzy mouse every week.

After about 3 months start feeding a mouse every two weeks.

I hope this helps so far..  If not please feel free to ask more questions:)
