Question
Hi i have a ball python he's about 3-3 and a half year's old i've had him since he was 6-8 month's old he is 2.5 feet long and weigh's about 2.5-3 pound's as far as i can tell he's a very healthy python i'm going to be bringing him to the vet in just a matter of week's um i have him on a stable diet of mice and 2 mice every saturday he has had 3 mice once before i was wondering i was told don't feed the snake anything larger then its own size so i know we feed him large live feeder mice so i put the size of the feeder mice on his belly not including the tail and there are 3 spot's for each feeder mice large enough for him to eat them but can he eat them comfortably like 3 mice would that be ok? In about 6-10 month's or less he will be on medium size rat's depending on his size so please get back to me this is really important he has been on 2 mice every week for about 6 month's or more i think 3 mice would be ok but i don't know if this help's if there's a certain timing the last time he ate he ate 2 mice in 5 minute's and he usually eat's 2 mice in 10 minute's so can i feed him more?

Answer
Hello Nicole,

I apologize for not replying right away..

I wouldn't advise to give your python 3 mice it could possibly be too much and cause the python to regurgitate.

2 mice every week should be fine unless it's ready for a bigger size of feeder.

But since you're going to the veterinarian they can tell you what you should feed him.

They'll weigh him and give you suggestions on what to feeding him.

I hope this helps:)
