ball python not eating

Question
I have a juvenile ball python that has not eaten in about 1.5 months.  He shed about 2 weeks ago, and still has a bit of skin attached.  I thought that this might be the reason he's not eating.  When he is offered food, he seems interested but then moves away from the food.  He also has not gone to the bathroom for 2.5 months, which I think is because he is not eating.  Any help you can give me as to why he's not eating would be appreciated.

Answer
Hey Natalie

You need to take him in for a checkup ASAP. Even if he isn't eating, he should still be drinking resulting in him going pee once a week at least. This time of year, the winter and spring months especially for balls since that is breeding season for them, it is not unusually for them to not eat for a few months. But the fact you said he hadn't had a bowel movement for 2.5 months is what concerns me.

The initial interest in the food then not taking it sounds normal for a snake that is just not hungry. Just keep offering every week or so and he should perk up within the next few weeks.
