Aggressive Burmese

Question
I got a Burmese python about 6 months ago. Since I've had him he has been a very docile snake. But recently(past couple weeks) he has been very aggressive towards me when I go to pick him up. He will hiss at me and strike. I have to cover him first and then pick him up. He seems fine after I finally get him. But I don't want a 16 foot snake that will strike at me when I go to get him. Will this change and him settle down? Or is there a reason he got aggressive all of a sudden? Not holding him enough?

Answer
About 1 in 100 are agressive.  Make sure you don't feed yours in his cage, remove him and place him somewhere else to feed.  That way never associates things coming into his cage with food.  I have one that will bite me if I pick him up with my hand but is fine if I pick him up with a hook and then handle him... go figure!  Handle him daily and perhaps even let him bite (a nice thick leather glove) so that he understands that biting doesn't work.
