Question
QUESTION: Hi,  My corn snake is about 8" long I noticed about a week ago that there was a raised line aprox.one" from the back of her head.  I don't see any mites, and it sort of looks like a cut that has formed a scab under the scales can you tell what it might be.  It is in a straight line.

ANSWER: Hi there, what heating do you use? This sounds like it could be a thermal burn possibly but if it doesnt clear up a vet will need to check it.

QUESTION: Hi again, Thank you for the advice.  I took the snake to the vet and he said the same thing.  After sheeding for the second time the scab is gone.  I have one more question: We bought a creamscile corn 3 weeks ago.  I have had the biggest problem getting him to eat.  I have tried everything:  fedding at different times, using different size pinki's,I have even tried feeding him in the cage, as well as numerous attemps in his feeding box.  He is always curled up under  something and doesn't want to be held at all.  Is this normal behavior for a new snake? How worried should I be because it has been 3 weeks since he has eaten?

Answer
Sounds like there is some problem with this snake. What set up and housing do you have? This snake could be very stressed, do not handle at all until it starts to eat regularly otherwise it could be longer before it starts to eat, let me know your heating and tank size and all that and I will try to help
