Question
My snake wouldnt eat for a couple days. When I finally gave her a mouse, she killed it but wouldnt eat it. Should I be concerned?

Answer
Hi Melissa.  No need to worry.  In fact, I have two snakes that do the exact same thing on occasion. (One a boa, the other a kingsnake). You didn't mention how long it had been since she last ate, but in most cases it just means they aren't hungry.  Their instinct tells them to kill their prey but if they aren't ready to eat they won't eat it.  Wait another week or two before you offer food again.  She also could be preparing to shed.  If that is the case it could be up to three weeks of not wanting to eat.  Depending on the size of your snake, last time she shed, etc.  Hope this helped and thanks for writing :-)
