Strange popping sound

Question
I have a corn snake that is about 17 months old. He seems
to be healthy to me, but he is my first snake so I'm
inexperienced. When I feed him He makes this popping - or
sometimes wheezing - sound and when I looked it up and the
closest thing I could find was UPI, but he doesn't have the
other symptoms mentioned. Also, this only happens when he's
eating and never when I'm just holding him. Like the site I
saw said I raised the temperature and lowered the humidity,
but nothing is changing. What should I do now? Is this
really UPI?

Thanks,
Matt

Answer
Usually with a URI (Upper Respiratory Infection) they will make a wheezing sound whenever they breathe. Often they have their mouth open as well. If it's only during eating that this happens, I would lean toward it not being a URI. The only way to tell for sure is to have a vet diagnose it.
