Sick corn snake??

Question
Hi,

I have a question regarding my 4 year old corn snake. I fed her as usual 7 days ago, the only thing different about the feed was that it was the day after she had shed her skin, I usually like to wait at least 2 days. Her shed skin was in one healthy long piece, as usual.
However, the probelm started today, I had her out on the floor and noticed she was about to deficate, so put her back in her tank. Her faeces came out covered in blood, it was very slimy and looked similar to a clot of blood. When I removed the faeces she was straight over to the spot it was and was full of activity.
I have not noticed anything different in her behaviour over the past week. She has never had any trouble before, no mites or anything. The temp etc has not been changed and she has no heat rocks or anything in the tank.
Could she possibly have an internal parasite(Entamoebiasis)?

I am very concerend and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Loraine

Answer
Loraine,
I would suggest that you take her into the vet as soon as possible. Make sure that you can find a reptile vet if at all possible. I would suspect parasites too, though I've had snakes with parasites before and never saw feces with blood on it like you say. I would be interested in knowing what the problem is when you find out.
