Missing Kingsnake....

Question
Hi there...I'm the proud owner of three wonderful snakes.  A female bubblegum snow albino corn, A mexican black male kingsnake and a Lavender-Albino male kingsnake.  I absolutely adore my snakes.  But last Sunday I discovered my Lavender-Albino was missing.  I don't know how he escaped from his tank, but he did.  I wouldn't be so worried if it weren't for the fact that there are vents on the floor.  My air conditioning wasn't working so well for awhile, It was only blowing semi-cool air.  I fear he may have gone into the vents.  I've searched through the rest of the house and found nothing.  While I was living in my other place my corn escaped three times and I found her each time and there were no vents on the floor.  I may sound like a rambling fool, but I love my snake and I miss him terribly.  Please...what should I do?

Answer
Hi Alene. There is a high probability he slithered into the air vent which in turn there is nothing you can do but be patient and wait for him to come out.  MANY MANY times have I had a snake escape...and does it ever frustrate me.  You go crazy looking under everything. In the meantime the best method that works for me is also the simplest.  I just grab a flashlight and between 7-10 pm I start making rounds around the house.  Looking along the floor boards and walls.  That is when they are most active and will come out looking for food/water.  Keep offering a fresh killed mouse every few days or so near the edge of wall where he might be near.  Keep lights off and be prepared to  wait, wait and wait some more.  It will take time but eventually he will show up out of nowwhere.  I've had some of my snakes (big and small) disappear for almost 3 months!!!! Then one day they show up.  Good luck and let me know when you find him :-)
