strang behaviuer

Hi
I have a corn snake and in his tank as beding is the green astroterf stuff and he keeps going under it and lays on the glass and some times gets stuck what can I do to get him to stop? i put a towel in the tank and put it in like a cave form but he still gose under the astroterf What do i do???

Snakes are always going to try to find the best possible hiding spot that makes them feel the most secure. You can try using something other than the astroturf, like shredded aspen mulch. I use aspen and find that snakes don't get right next to the glass when you use it. It's also easy for cleaning the cage.
