Childrens python wont eat

Question
I have a 15 year old children's python. He hasn't eaten for about 2 months, he is being very active in his enclosure which usually means he wants food. I have tried twice in the last 2 weeks, he will go up have a look at it(rat), then turn his nose up and slither away. He shed about 3 weeks ago.
What could be wrong with my old boy?

Answer
First off, congrats on the long life!  I can think of 2 reasons he might not be eating.  One he wants to breed, two he's sick.  Now, you'll have to figure out which one it is.  Check his mouth and make sure it looks normal and perhaps have a "fecal float test" done by your local vet the next time he poops (put the poop in a plastic bag and take it to the vet-ANY vet should be able to scan the poo for parasites).  Those would be the 2 easiest things you could do to check his health.  Breeding... well you know, find him a girl friend!

If you would perfer I could come over and check him out free of charge!  I'll simply need a round-trip plane ticket from the airport of your choice in Florida.  I'll even clean his cage while I'm there!  LOL

Good luck!
