Ball python rash

I just bought a het albino male python and noticed that it has what looks like small inflamed rashes randomly on his scales, he also will not get out of his water dish, he just sits in the water all day. I was wondering if i should be concerned about the red scales? He has no hot rock, a humidor a water bowl, and aspen bedding. He has only been with us for less than 24 hours, what do you think?

It sound like he is getting ready to shed. The under belly will turn a bit pink to red in random spots. This is normal and the reason he is in the water dish is to help with the shed. This means the humidity level in the tank is not good and needs to be increased.
