Question
QUESTION: i think my snake is sick its not shedding right just little pieces come of at a time an it took about 2 weeks to fully shed but there still some pieces stuck to it an it been goin to the bathroom alot the last 2days even when i was handling the snake to ..i just wanna no if its healthy .

ANSWER: Hi Matt
Shedding problems are a very common occurance in snakes.   It may take a while so don't give up too easily. First soak him in very shallow warm water for 30 mins. A damp towel can then be used to gently peel off stubborn skin fragments. An alternative to this manual method involves rolling the snake snugly in warm moist, heavy towels and allowing it to crawl out, leaving the stubborn skin fragments behind. This procedure can be repeated if necessary.I am a bit concerned about the your snake defecating so often. If he is a fairly new pet for you he might still be nervous when held.  That in turn will cause them to defecate more often. Good luck and thanks for writing.

QUESTION: than you for your help i will do that today i juist have 1 more i been curious on is there any way to tell a burmesse python from a dwarf burmesse , because i was reading just stuff over the internet but i came across something and it said that dwarf burmesse like to go to bathroom alot rather then trying to bite you but im just curious about that havening a dwarf burmesse instead of a burmesse would be awsome but i dont have my hopes up!

ANSWER: Hi Matt
There is always a chance your's could possibly be a dwarf species. Dwarf's only grow to 7Ft. There really is no exact way to tell if he is a dwarf. But I have never heard of the dwarf species to defecate more than that of the regular burmese. Hope all went well with the shed problem :-) Take care

QUESTION: im havening some problems handling him he strikes alot especialy when hes in his cage but i can understand that but when im handling him he will strike at me or other people but he stays calm with me after a while an he go's to the bathroom while he strikes at you. i need to no if thats a problem because they shouldt be so mean i had a 7ft red tail boa an he was fine and i hear there a little more dangerous then a burmess but im not seeing that right now.

Answer
Burmese pythons can have aggression issues. They normally are not recommended to keep as pets as they get very large. If you continue with the daily handling,  both with just yourself and around others, he should calm down.  But if not, you might have to find him a new home. Just like humans, some snakes have their own personality and can be hateful and angry or calm and collect. It's the luck of the draw when getting a new pet. Take care.
