Question
I went to feed my snake the other day and he had several wood shaving in his jaw before i took him out of his tank (i feed him in the tub) i removed the shards of wood with tweezers, my close friend had one of her snakes die because a wood chip damaged its organs, i figured his mouth would be sore so i put him back in his cage and left him for the day, i tried to feed him again yesterday, two days later, and again today. he wouldn't eat, and constantly opened his mouth, eather hissing at the live mouse, or making a almost burping sound, I was wondering if you had any insite of what the problem could be or if i should take him to a vet.

Answer
I think you nailed it. His mouth is still sore and he doesn't want to eat. You didn't say how big he is, but most boas can go months and months without eating and still be ok. I'd keep trying for about a month. If he still hasn't eaten, take him to a vet. Make sure he has plenty of water (as I am sure you already have).
