Sanye's cage
okay, i have a columbian red tail boa, she's 5 months old, and 23 in. long. i feed her once a week. i have built her a cage and put her in it about 5 days ago, its 36x18x18 in inches. since she has been in it, she stays under her hollowed out log. please help me out as soon as you can. thanks alot,

Hi Dustin,

This behavior is completely normal. snakes spend most of their time in their hide boxes because its dark and they feel safe and secure in there. Snakes are nocturnal animals anyway, and so will be inactive in the day and mostly active at night when you're asleep.
