Questionhello sir, may i know why do snakes leave their skin frequently??? is there any term to describe the above action???
AnswerHello Gopal,
Snakes shed their skin just like we do, they just do it all at one time. Their skin is not elastic like ours and they outgrow the skin. Once they are bigger than the skin, they secrete a lubricant that helps them sloth it off. If you notice, they will turn a dingy color before they shed, this is commonly referred to as being "in blue".
