snake bone

Question
Yesterday, I was outside playing with my kids and slipped my shoes off. I felt something sharp stab my foot and found a small bone hanging from my heel. It punctured my foot. After looking at some pictures online, I have decided it looks a lot like the bottom jaw of a snake. It has the teeth and all. Today my foot is quite sore and hurting. Is there any diseases I need to worry about or even dry up venom? I know nothing about snakes but I do know we are in cotton mouth country. Please give me any advice you can.

Answer
No diseases from the snake and the likelihood of there being venom left after rain, sun, and other exposure is very low. I'd say less than a 1% chance. The effects of the venom happens a lot quicker than a day. That is not to say that there could not be some sort of bacterial infection that was on the bone / fang as a result of being in the environment.
