Question
Hi Jenna.. noticed your profile, my ball python about a year and half has been very healthy , but the first 6 months or so i had him he had very much trouble shedding.. but his past two sheds have been perfect.. but i've noticed thats he's not to responsive anymore to movements, and is finding it harder to feed him. do you think the bad sheds could have made him blind? any easy ways to tell if he has old eye caps or anything??? even if i move my hand very fast over his head or infront of his face he doesn't react.

Answer
Hey Steve

A lot of the time with bad sheds, the eye caps do not come off and cause partial blindness or complete depending on the snake. I would take him in to see a vet asap to see if that is the case, since this can cause problems. It isn't always easy to see them, and if it's more than one cap, you won't be able to remove it yourself without causing possible harm.
