Question
Our ball python has had cloudy eyes for quite some time now (several weeks) although seems to be feeding beautifully (2x a week) as we just increased that tank size. I have also noticed for the past two feedings that he is wheezing slightly and I did add more humidity to the room. Heat just kicked on in past several weeks as well.

He does seem to need complete darkness to strike properly when eating, or he misses. Due to eyes? Or is that normal in general? First time snake owner, but have had him for just over a year now.

any advice appreciated as he is very sweet and been a wonderful pet so far.

Answer
Meagan,    I'm sorry this guy needs to go to the vet. ASAP He definitely has a respiratory infection and is going to need a shot. Make sure he has all the correct tank temperatures. His basking temperature should be about 90 degrees. While your tank temperature should be around 80 during the day. They make great pets!!!!! Especially if you handle him alot. They become very close to their owner and quite characters. So you will want to get him in to be looked at. I hope everything goes well for your baby. Good Luck, Tina
