how to treat burns on a ball python

I'm not sure how it happened but a few weeks ago while i was cleaning out my snake tank i noticed that he had burned himself all along the bottom of his belly. i have tried cleaning it to see if it helps but its starting to  look worse i haven't found i vet in our area that treats reptiles and the pet store that we bought him from told us there is not a lot you can do for a snake. so if there is any advice that you can give me i would really appreciate. thanks,

Minor burns should be cleansed daily with hydrogen peroxide or diluted Betadine and covered with a triple antibiotic ointment during healing.  Obviously you should remove the heat source until the snake heals. In the meantime use a heat lamp. Serious burns should be seen by a vet experienced in reptile care to determine the extent of tissue damage and treat possible dehydration.
